Supporters and Friends!

Christian Legal Aid of DC, along with Prison Fellowship, is very excited to invite you to our upcoming Faith and Law Lecture.  This year's lecture is titled:  The Intersection of Poverty, Incarceration, and Criminal Justice.  We have a distinguished panel of lawmakers (Congresswoman Gwen Moore; Senator Tim Scott, Invited), a leader from the faith community (Pastor Thabiti Anyabwile), a long-time community-activist (Robert Woodson), and an ex-offender.

The discussion will focus on the many ways that over-incarceration has negatively and profoundly affected poverty -- not just in our city, but in cities all across America.  We will look at how this is an issue of justice, of loving our neighbors and of caring for the poor.  We are grateful to have many different perspectives coming together to speak to the far-reaching effects of this critical issue, and we expect this to be an engaging and robust conversation.

WHEN:  JULY 17TH 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm (Reception 6:00 pm; Panel begins promptly at 7:00 pm; Q & A to follow)

WHERE:  WASHINGTON COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 907 Maryland Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002 (Just blocks from Union Station and Eastern Market Metro Stations)
